Jesus in the Qur'an
“Say,
"We have believed in Allāh and in what was revealed to us and what was
revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and the
Descendants [al-Asbāṭ], and in what was given to Moses and Jesus
and to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of
them, and we are Muslims [submitting] to Him." [Al-e-Imraan: (3:84)]
“Indeed,
We have sent revelation to you O Prophet as We sent revelation to Noah and the
prophets after him. We also sent revelation to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob,
and his descendants, ˹as well as˺ Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon. And to
David We gave the Psalms.” [Aan-Nisaa: (4:163)]
“O
People of the Book, do not go to excess in your religion, and do not say anything
about God except the truth: the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, was nothing more
than a messenger of God, His word, directed to Mary, a spirit from Him. So
believe in God and His messengers and do not speak of a ‘Trinity’- stop [this],
that is better for you- God is only one God, He is far above having a son,
everything in the heavens and earth belongs to Him and He is the best one to
trust.” [Aan-Nisaa: (4:171)]
“[The
Day] when Allah will say,
"O
Jesus, Son of Mary, remember My favor upon you and upon your mother when I
supported you with the holy Spirit and you spoke to the people in the cradle
and in maturity; and [remember] when I taught you writing and wisdom and the
Torah and the Gospel;
and
when you designed from clay [what was] like the form of a bird with My
permission, then you breathed into it, and it became a bird with My permission;
and you healed the blind and the leper with My permission; and when you brought
forth the dead with My permission;
and
when I restrained the Children of Israel from [killing] you when you came to
them with clear proofs and those who disbelieved among them said, "This is
not but obvious magic." [Al-Maidah: (5:110)]
And
on Judgment Day, Allah will say,
“O
Jesus, son of Mary! Did you ever ask the people to worship you and your mother
as gods besides Allah?”
Jesus
will answer, “Glory be to You! How could I ever say what I had no right to say?
If
I had said such a thing, You would have certainly known it.
You
know what is ˹hidden˺ within me, but I do not know what is within You.
Indeed,
You ˹alone˺ are the Knower of all unseen. [Al-Maidah: (5:116)]
